An event every week that begins at 9:00am on Monday, repeating until January 24, 2022
Choosing to practice Yoga for Scoliosis requires commitment and inner awareness. Yoga teaches us to not expect perfection, but to accept your Self and find your own optimal alignment & center. Yoga works with the whole body and breath through postures that integrate limbs, shoulders and pelvis into connection & communication with the spine and nervous system. The foundation of this class is to develop awareness of your postural imbalances and understanding how the breath can nourish and illuminate your Self to help you find your unique midline. Each week we will explore postures with personal adaptations to your individual imbalances while applying supportive breath work. The lessons build on each week, and you are encouraged to attend all 4 classes for greater understanding and benefit.
This class is intended for students with scoliosis, teachers or prospective teachers of yoga and any students seeking a better understanding of anatomy in connection with their yoga practice. This class is not intended for students with current back injuries. We encourage any injured students to attend one of our Gentle Yoga class offerings with prior notice to the teacher so that safe and proper modifications can be made for your practice.
