Class Descriptons
Level 1
For beginning students. Provides basic instructions in yoga postures with attention
to structural alignment.
Level 1-2
For students who have completed at least one level 1 class at the studio or have
had some experience iwth the Iyengar system of yoga
Level 2
At least two classes (Level 1 or 1/2) at the studio or equivalent Iyengar expoerienced.
Refines technique and introduces new postures.
Level 3
For more experienced practitioners. More inversions and backbends included.
Restorative Yoga
Supported and modified yoga postures designed to calm the nerves and engender deep
relaxation.
Gentle Yoga
A gentle approach to yoga in which postures are modified and props used to accomodate
each student.
Vinyasa
A flowing sequence of postures which provides a complete practice. Some
yoga experience recommended.
Meditation and Dharma Discussion
Sunday afternoons. Dharma discussion 4:30-5pm based on book decided by participants.
Meditation 5-6pm. Two 20 minutes periods of seated meditation with 10 minutes
of walking meditation in between. Participants may attend either or both discussion
and meditation. Free.
Sing Song Yoga
For children 4-11
Sing Song Yoga is a brand new children's yoga program which uses children's songs
to assist in learning the yoga poses. A song sung with a familiar tune is
taught for each pose. The children will quickly learn the songs which will
assist them in enjoying the poses, in class and at home. This child centered
class will provide children with yoga, songs, and fun in a non-intimidating environment.
Tai Chi
Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art often characterized by its slow moving
dance-like meditation. It improves balance, strength and agility and helps
increase mental clarity and calm the mind.
